Helping Your Anxiety Attacks
Panic attacks have become a normal occurrence although not everyone necessarily experience the severe kind of panic attacks. Panic attacks and anxiety disorders are a condition in which a person has episodes of intense fear or anxiety that occur suddenly. In such instances, very often unfortunately, they tend to occur without warning and they can also last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours depending on how severe a condition you might have.
Both of these conditions are very similar to one another so you will find that many times they overlap. Many people may not be able to recognize that they suffer from these condition because they may mistake the symptoms for something that commonly occurs when they are feeling scared about something or even nervous about something. And of course, for anyone who suffers from these conditions, the only thing that they are going to be looking out for is a way to stop panic attacks and find a cure so that they can be rid of this condition which could disrupt their daily routine whenever it most unfortunately occurs.
The symptoms experience in panic attacks and anxiety disorders are quite common and can easily be mistaken for something that is quite common to get when you are afraid or worried about something. Because these symptoms are so common, it is understandable why someone would find it hard to differentiate as to when it’s a result of normal fear, or if indeed they have panic attacks and anxiety disorders. The key to differentiating it is realizing when it occurs more often than it should. If it does, then you might be in need of some panic disorder medications as soon as possible.
Of course, the person who is best suited to help you would be your medical physician. Get the advice of a medical expert on treating a panic attack and getting the right kind of medication that you need according to how severe your condition is. Not everyone is going to require the same medication dosage or respond to the treatments in the same way so get your doctor's advice and never attempt to do it on your own. If you have anxiety attacks, and you know that you need help with anxiety attacks, then you should immediately schedule a doctor’s consultation and get his opinion as soon as possible. But there are also other things you can do to stop panic attacks if they occur at the most inopportune moments, or at least keep it under control:
1. Learn to relax because relaxation is a good way to fend off panic attacks. Find a relaxation technique that you find suits you, such as yoga perhaps or meditation and practice until you get the hang of it. Practice as often as you can so you train yourself to be more relaxed and not get worked up about things so easily and eventually you will find the panic attacks subside as well.
2. Use a brown paper bag – you know how you sometimes see on TV people using brown paper bags and placing them over their nose and mouth while they breathe into it and try to calm down? Well, that is one good tip that you can use to help with anxiety attacks, because you’d be surprised that they can actually be quite effective. Carry an empty brown paper bag with you and when you need to, breathe into it and count slowly until you calm down.
3. Get in some exercise - it is also the best way to treat any form of disorders you might have because nothing compares to having a healthy and fit body that is in great shape. Exercise gets your body healthier and a healthy body is your best protection against any kind of disease or condition. When your body is healthy, you depend less and less on the panic disorder medications and you can learn to bring down your panic attacks so it is at a bare minimum.
And finally, the last thing you can do to help with anxiety attacks if you are experiencing them or you know someone that is suffering from them is to read up on how to treat anxiety disorder or panic attacks so that you would know what you are dealing with instead of being completely oblivious and not knowing a thing.
